Frozenbyte Humble Bundle Mini-Review and Giveaway!

Steam-powered
So, if you're ever gamed on the PC before, then you have very well heard about Steam!  For those of you that haven't, Steam is an online gaming community and software developer, as well as a store of sorts for games that can be downloaded straight to your desktop!  The games include achievements, as well as some added bonuses.

Having been a Steam gamer for almost a year now, I've been able to play most of my favorite games on a PC, and I have to say, it really is a unique gaming experience.  Most hardcore gamers even prefer a PC over any other console. So, whenever new games come out, Steam alerts me via the home page, and I get to sit back and browse!

After purchasing a couple of games and getting used to the new platform, the Humble Bundle was introduced to allow gamers to purchase a bundle of DRM-free games at whatever price they wish to pay! This allows the developers to profit and get their names out there and a part of the donation goes to charity!

For the Frozenbyte Humble Bundle, included are $50 worth of games, including one of my favorites, Trine. All are yours to download, and many include modders and soundtracks, bringing the price higher up.  But you just pay what you wish, which actually seems to work out in the favor of the charities and developers.

All the included games, and the two charities are served on silver and gold platters!

In all, the games were incredibly fun, and I'm super hyped for Splot!  Purchasing the bundle gives you access to the demo, which is incredibly addicting!  Jack Claw was never finished, however, but it is so fun to play and think, "What if?"  Look for these reviews coming soon on Geek Preview!

For the charities, the Electronic Frontier Foundation is pursuing the ability to make technology friendly to all users and advocates digital rights.  As for Child's Play Charity, it improves the lives of hospitalized children through use of toys and games.  They are definitely deserving of your money alone!

So, what about the giveaway?  Well, I have a humble bundle that I'm giving away and it's worth over $50!  What do you have to do to win it?

Mandatory Entry: Leave a comment telling me which of these games you'd play the most if you won!

The giveaway will end Tuesday, June 14th, 2011 at 11:59PM Central Time.  Be sure to leave your e-mail!  I'll contact the winner and post the winner on here, and they will have 24 hours to respond before I choose another winner.  I will be using random.org to choose the lucky person!

I was no way endorsed by Steam or any of the developers or charities for this giveaway, I just strongly believe in the actions by he Humble Bundle.

  14. I'm seeing (and loving) all of the Trine excitement! I feel Trine is one of the best indie games on Steam right now, and wanted to know what exactly is drawing you to the game? Graphics? Certain gameplay elements?

  15. I love action/puzzle games so ive wanted to play Trine for a while now. It seems like it would be a lot of fun to play through using each characters different abilities. Plus i really like the art style and that fantasy setting.
