Beavis and Butthead: Episode 5 Mini-Review with Extras!

Here it is:  our weekly ritual.  Beavis and Butthead every Thursday at 10/9c.  We usually can catch it with all the work going on and it's a sad night when we don't.  The last episode was a huge success, and their latest double episode has some... extra qualities.

Tonight's episode focused on two important issues today:  laziness and teen obesity.  Both of these episodes kick ass, too, according to Beavis and Butthead.  Behind the ass-kicking-ness that is Beavis and Butthead lie some core values that people usually overlook while they're watching Mike Judge's brilliant show.  We're gonna take a look at that and give you some of the best quotes from the show, but it's all after the breakdown:

Artistic Style:  If it looks like Beavis and Butthead and sounds like Beavis and Butthead, it must be Beavis and Butthead.  Two points to Gryffindor!

Commentaries:  The commentaries were extremely solid in this episode.  Not only did they possess extreme comedic talent in some of the commentaries, but there was an extreme variety as well.  Some were a hit and miss, though.  A Mexican Spanish music video featuring "Christ," classic Jersey Shore, and a slew of other great shows.  The Spanish music video wasn't all too funny and there was one commentary from a show I've never seen that didn't even make me chuckle.

Comedy:  The comedy of the actual plots were extremely exceptional.  Some jokes were visual, where others were their actual jokes.  There's even a scene where Butt-Head looks like Morgan Spurlock from Supersize Me.  That made me laugh so hard!  Check out the most hilarious quotes at the end!

Overall Episode Quality:  The quality gets extra points for touching on topics that other people don't:  teen obesity and laziness.  People really do think they can get by doing nothing and some people do gorge themselves.  Add these morals in with the comedy and you've got one great episode.

Re-watchability: I'd definitely rewatch it again.  I want to see if there's any other symbolism there.

Was it better than Green Lantern?  Yep!

Overall Grade:  9.5  While the show did have some amazing comedy and got the bonus points for the epic symbolism and touching on touchy subjects, the commentaries were lacking a bit.  Still a solid episode and it sucks that we have to wait two weeks; at least there's two episodes then!  Here's the funniest quotes from the episode:

"Teen obesity kicks ass." - Butthead
"I just got paid for taking a dump."  - Butthead on using the bathroom while on the clock.
"That Christ is something else."  - Beavis on "Christ" speaking Spanish
"Some nachos sound good right now.  Even better than scoring."  - Beavis

It sucks that we have to wait two weeks, but we'll have lots of articles we'll be pumping out until then!

Huh huh, we said pump.
